EATG participated in the READI Project General Assembly in Madrid (28–30 January), marking the close of the project’s first year and a significant step forward in promoting more inclusive and representative clinical research across Europe.
Over the past 12 months, the READI consortium has moved from ambition to action — building strong scientific, ethical, digital, and community-centred foundations to address the persistent underrepresentation of underserved and underrepresented populations in clinical studies. With 75 organisations across 18 countries, the project is already generating concrete outputs and shaping a more inclusive clinical research ecosystem.
The General Assembly reflected on key achievements from Year One, including progress toward a patient-centred digital platform, improved understanding of underserved populations, the establishment of scientific and ethics advisory structures, and the development of methodologies to enhance representation in clinical studies.
Looking ahead, the READI consortium will focus on piloting inclusive approaches, strengthening community engagement, expanding collaboration across clinical sites, and translating its principles into practical tools and real-world applications to improve representation in research.
EATG was represented at the General Assembly by Daniela Rojas Castro (READI Community Advisory Group) and EATG staff and consultants involved in the project (Shatyam Issur, Tolulope Olalekan and Laura McAuley).
Through its involvement in READI, EATG continues to champion meaningful community engagement, ethical and representative research, and stronger inclusion of underserved populations in clinical studies across Europe.
