An article, published in The Conversation, compared the global responses to COVID-19 and TB, both declared by the World Health Organization as a public health emergency in 2020 and 1993, respectively. It highlighted what happens when one epidemic is treated as an emergency and the other is not, and what works to accelerate progress against a global threat.
