EATG joins its voice with other European civil society partners who have teamed up to launch the #SOS4EUHealthInnovation.
The global health research community is today facing an unprecedented challenge to its very foundation. Policy shifts from the United States are jeopardizing scientific independence,
environmental protections, and public health initiatives across the world, Europe included.
Europe maintains a longstanding tradition of global scientific leadership. In the last 25 years, Team Europe’s investments in research and innovation (R&I) have saved almost 1 million lives from neglected diseases and helped deliver multiple life-saving COVID-19 vaccines. In fact, every €1 of R&I activity ultimately generates €5.67 in additional output in Europe.
It has never been more urgent to preserve and strengthen Europe’s health R&I ecosystem. This is an opportunity to take leadership, accelerate innovation, and attract and nurture talent.
EATG joins its voice with other European civil society partners who have teamed up to launch the #SOS4EUHealthInnovation (Safeguard Our Science for European Health Innovation).
Join the call to the European Union and its member states to safeguard Europe’s investments and leadership in health R&I to deliver scientific outputs as global public goods for generations to come.
Visit www.SOS4EUHealthInnovation.org to learn about the demands and read and sign the open letter.
