EATG Launches Updated DoxyPEP Resource with Latest Evidence and Resources

Back to the "News" list

We are pleased to announce the release of Version 2 of EATG’s DoxyPEP resource, reflecting the latest scientific evidence, updated clinical guidance, and expanded community insights on the use of doxycycline for STI prevention.

Building on the previous edition, Version 2 provides a more comprehensive and up-to-date resource for communities, advocates, and healthcare professionals. It incorporates new research findings, improved data interpretation, and a broader overview of the evolving global policy landscape around DoxyPEP.

What’s new in Version 2

  • Updated evidence base, including additional real-world studies and larger datasets
  • Refined efficacy estimates with clearer breakdowns across infections and settings
  • Expanded analysis of antimicrobial resistance, including regional data and trends
  • Inclusion of the latest international and national guidelines (2025–2026 updates)

We strongly encourage advocates, community health workers and organisations to adapt and translate this resource into their local languages to ensure it is accessible and relevant in different contexts.

The new, previous and local versions of the resource, along with guidance on how to adapt it, can be found here.

This latest version represents an important step forward in supporting informed decision-making and advocacy around DoxyPEP, while acknowledging ongoing uncertainties and the need for continued research.
