This year, EATG’s annual General Assembly (GA) took place virtually on May 29 and 30, bringing together members, staff, and leadership for two days of reflection, discussion, and decision-making focused on the organisation’s future.
The 2026 General Assembly was another important milestone for EATG. Members received updates from EATG’s Board of Directors, governing bodies, and programme leads alongside presentations on organisational activities and financial performance.
A key highlight of the Assembly was the election of a new Board of Directors and Internal Auditors, who will help guide EATG’s work in the coming year.
We are pleased to announce the composition of the Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 term:
*newly elected
The landscape is shifting, politically, scientifically, and for the communities we represent. Funding is shrinking, policy windows are narrowing, and the pressure on civil society is real. EATG has always navigated complexity by staying grounded in its communities and rigorous in its strategy. This General Assembly strengthened both: renewed leadership and a shared commitment to positioning EATG where it can have the greatest impact in the years ahead.
We are also pleased to announce the election of the Internal Auditors:
Warm congratulations to all newly elected and continuing representatives. We look forward to working together to advance EATG’s mission and strengthen the voice of people living with and affected by HIV, viral hepatitis, and related co-infections across Europe.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the outgoing members of the Board of Directors and Internal Auditors for their commitment, leadership, and service to EATG.
The year ahead will be a pivotal one for EATG. Through a programme of strategic review and governance development, members, staff, and elected representatives will work together to design a new long-term organisational strategy. This process will help define EATG’s future direction, strengthen its governance structures, and ensure that the organisation continues to serve as a strong, credible, and influential voice for communities across Europe and Central Asia.
We are already looking ahead with enthusiasm to our next General Assembly and the opportunities that lie ahead for our community.
