Back to the "HIV and Co-Infections News" list

On 5 September 2025, advocates sent an open letter to the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, urging WHO to maintain and resource its strong presence, expert capacity, normative guidance and diplomatic voice within the harm reduction, human rights and drug policy spaces, to ensure the continuation of its crucial work in support of harm reduction and people who use drugs, and also through ensuring meaningful involvement of people who use drugs at all levels.

The letter with the full list of signatories can be accessed here.
