Community Declaration EACS 2025 PARIS: Protecting Rights, Preserving Health: A Call to Support Communities in the Fight Against HIV
Credit: EACSEnding the HIV epidemic in Europe is no longer a distant ambition, and the tools to achieve it are already within reach. Yet community organisations, essential to supporting people at risk and living with HIV and ensuring access to prevention and care, are being weakened by funding cuts and increasingly repressive policies towards people from other countries.
If these organisations are sidelined, those most vulnerable to HIV will be excluded from prevention, testing, and treatment. The risk of the epidemic resurging then becomes all too real.
On the occasion of the European AIDS Conference (EACS 2025), we call on governments and the European Union to step up their support for community organisations and to defend policies that put health, solidarity and human rights first.
