Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine news release

Researchers demonstrated that rapid, low-cost TB diagnosis is within reach for the ‘missed millions’. A study across seven high-burden countries showed that pooled sputum testing on Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra — examining samples from several people in a single molecular test cartridge — halves the required cartridges to make successful diagnoses with only a small reduction in accuracy.
