New International Labour Organization report shows the potential of workplaces in scaling up HIV testing and treatment, particularly for men and those who are normally left behind.
A new International Labour Organization (ILO) report launched on 1 December shows that workplaces are proving vital in closing HIV testing gaps among men, while advancing inclusive health and wellness for all workers through its Voluntary Counselling and HIV Testing for Workers (VCT@WORK) Initiative.
The report, titled Reducing the HIV testing gap in men: Voluntary counselling and HIV testing for workers, captures experiences from the implementation of VCT@WORK between 2021 and 2024 implemented across 13 countries with a high HIV burden. The Initiative was carried out through innovative partnerships involving ministries of labour, ministries of health, employers’ and workers’ organizations, national AIDS programmes, organizations of people living with HIV, UNAIDS and other relevant partners.
