Doravirine/islatravir (DOR/ISL) and bictegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (BIC/FTC/TAF) are associated with similar improvements in self-reported health status and reductions in bothersome symptoms among previously untreated adults with HIV-1, according to study results presented at IDWeek 2026, held from October 21 to 24, in Washington, DC.
Researchers assessed patient-reported outcomes with DOR/ISL, a novel 2-drug antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimen, compared with BIC/FTC/TAF in a double-blind phase 3 trial (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT05705349). The trial previously demonstrated noninferior virologic efficacy and comparable safety between ART regimens at week 48.
