Switching to a once-daily bictegravir/lenacapavir (BIC/LEN) single-tablet regimen is generally well tolerated through 48 weeks among people with HIV (PWH) and comorbid dyslipidemia, hypertension, or diabetes. These study results were presented at IDWeek 2026, held from October 21 to 24, in Washington, DC.

Researchers evaluated safety outcomes from the phase 3 portion of ARTISTRY-1 (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT05502341), a randomized, open-label trial involving PWH who had achieved virologic suppression while receiving complex antiretroviral therapy regimens. Participants were randomly assigned 2:1 to switch to once-daily BIC/LEN or continue their existing regimens.
