Earlier initiation of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) among pregnant women with highly viremic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection along with subsequent HBV vaccination in infants is supported for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission in areas where HBV immune globulin (HBIG) is not available, according to study results published in the JAMA.
