[CROI 2026] Healio: Very early ART may help children control HIV without treatment

Researchers monitored 19 children with HIV who began ART within 21 days of birth and stopped treatment as young children. Six children maintained undetectable viral loads for at least 12 weeks.

It was another sign that children initiating HIV treatment at a very early age may later be able to control the virus without it, researchers said.
