The Global TB Caucus released an analysis ‘People-centered, rights-based TB legislation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia’.
The analysis examines the region’s laws on public health, health systems, labor, TB, and other infectious diseases. Using global norms and standards, the analysis highlights a host of opportunities to expand protections for public health while laying the foundation for a rights-based, people-centered disease response. It sets forth 15 recommendations to modernize and strengthen TB legislation in the region and beyond. These reforms are needed now more than ever as the region experiences enormous upheavals from the conflict in Ukraine.
