Treatment Action Group developed An Activist’s Protocol Review Toolkit designed to facilitate community participation in the development and review of clinical trials protocols. The toolkit contains four tools — a protocol review companion, a protocol input questionnaire, a feedback letter template, and a trial impact assessment — to help Community Advisory Boards (CABs) think through different aspects of trial design and implementation, organize feedback for the research team, and evaluate impact on study design and implementation. The toolkit was developed in consultation with members of two existing CABs — the Global Tuberculosis Community Advisory Board (TB CAB) and the Community Research Advisors Group (CRAG).
The toolkit with the accompanying materials can be accessed here.
