Inclusion of Women and Transgender People in Clinical Trials: Advancing Equity in Research is a thematic meeting, organised as part of the EATG Belong project. The symposium takes place in Barcelona on 5 April (13:40-14:40). This symposium is held in the framework of the 15th International Workshop on Women & HIV organised by Academic Medical Education.
With this meeting we aim to address the systematic underrepresentation or exclusion of cisgender women and transgender people living with HIV from non-HIV clinical trials. Such barriers limit the understanding of how treatments and prevention tools affect these populations and hinder the development of effective, and equitably designed therapeutic solutions. In this session, community advocates and clinical researchers will exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and identify possible solutions to promote greater inclusivity in clinical research for women and transgender people living with HIV in non-HIV and vaccine trials.
