EATG endorses this letter by the EU4Health Civil Society Alliance calling on EU Members States to support the reinstatement of operating grants in the 2026 EU4Health Work Programme and a strong, dedicated health budget in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034.

This follows earlier steps by the Alliance, including a complaint to the European Commission and the European Ombudswoman regarding the absence of operating grants in 2025, and the publication of a blueprint for a new MFF that can deliver on Europe’s most urgent health priorities.
Sustained investment in health and civil society is indispensable to secure Europe’s resilience, social cohesion, competitiveness and future, and to ensure that EU health policymaking remains a democratic process, civil society must have the support to participate effectively and meaningfully.
