Wits University news release
Researchers at Wits University, at the South Africa’s National Health Laboratory Service, and at University Medical Center Utrecht developed a new way to help people whose HIV viral load increased while they were taking the standard dolutegravir-based antiretroviral treatment. They used a quick blood exposure test.
Researchers conducted an implementation study (ITREMA-2) aiming to prevent the accumulation and spread of HIV-1 drug resistance in resource-limited settings.
The results of the ITREMA-2 study are published in The Lancet HIV.
