Among children and adolescents living with HIV, dolutegravir (DTG)-based antiretroviral therapy (ART) demonstrates sustained superior efficacy compared with non-dolutegravir standard care regimens over 240 weeks, according to study findings published in Open Forum Infectious Diseases.
Researchers conducted the ODYSSEY randomized clinical trial (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02259127) to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of DTG-based ART among infants, children, and adolescents living with HIV who were either initiating first-line therapy or switching to second-line treatment after virologic failure.
