KFF analysis
On April 3, 2026, the administration released its Fiscal Year 2027 budget request. The budget request includes discretionary funding for US global health programs at the State Department, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The proposed budget includes significant reductions in and restructuring of global health funding, including the elimination of some programs and activities.
