[Press release] MHRA approves lenacapavir for the prevention of sexually transmitted HIV-1 infection

19 December 2025 — The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)* has approved lenacapavir (Yeytuo) for the prevention of sexually transmitted HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents.

The medicinal product is subject to additional monitoring. This will allow quick identification of new safety information. Reporting suspected adverse reactions after authorisation of the medicinal product is important. It allows continued monitoring of the benefit/risk balance of the medicinal product.
