Credit: WHOThe second edition of the “WHO data quality assessment of national and partner monitoring data and system implementation tool” provides guidance on improving data quality for HIV treatment and patient monitoring. It offers recommendations on developing follow-up action plans, disseminating and reporting assessment results, using results to adjust national HIV estimates, and implementing data quality improvement activities at the site level.
A new step has been introduced to develop an after-action plan, to ensure accountability for remediation activities before disseminating results. By following this guidance, health systems can strengthen data quality assessment processes and improve the reliability and accuracy of HIV treatment and patient monitoring data.
