EATG’s PROMise Stakeholder Meeting will take place face-to-face on Tuesday 2 July (10:00-16:00 CET) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The upcoming PROMise stakeholder meeting in Amsterdam will be a space for deep discussion and co-creation between several stakeholders, including community members, academics, and pharmaceutical, regulatory and HTA representatives with the following goals:

  • Explore which core domains should be prioritised for HIV R&D
  • Determine mechanisms for identifying existing modular PROMs (or develop new ones) that could be used to address specific product or patient characteristics
  • Discuss the logistics for developing the publication of articles and project outcomes

PROMs (or patient reported outcome measures) provide understanding into how people feel about their health and wellbeing. PROMs can be used to check in on a person’s outlook and can be used to measure progress or deterioration of a person’s situation over time. Today, chronic treatment for HIV is safe and effective, so using PROMs in clinical trials to measure people’s quality of life can be useful to help distinguish new medicines in the future that address some of the outstanding issues that people living with HIV face daily, such as stigma, depression and sleep disturbances.

Since 2020, the European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG) has commissioned research and stakeholder discussions under the scope of the PROMise project to analyse the role of PROMs in HIV research and development (R&D). You can find all of that research so far, and our related work from the past years on PROMs in HIV in our PROMise Community Activist Toolbox
