HIV i-Base: HTB, first reports from CROI 2019; Fit for Purpose report 2019 released

HIV Treatment Bulletin (HTB) is a community publication produced by HIV i-Base.

This edition of HTB includes the first reports from CROI 2019, with additional reports following in subsequent issues.

This year the meeting was particularly important and lively with headline news on the UK case of HIV remission released before the study was even presented.

Other news in this issue includes phase 3 results for long-acting cabotegravir/rilpivirine injections and the data showing that tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) is efective as PrEP.

Two studies are included showing faster viral suppression from using integrase inhibitors during pregnancy and drug interaction studies between HIV and TB medications.

Several CROI webcasts are highlighted and a review of a community cure workshop held just before the conference is included.

Fit for Purpose 2019 was launched at CROI. The report, produced by HIV i-Base, provides an overview of recent developments in antiretroviral treatment (ART) optimisation for HIV positive adults, in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

The bulletin can be accessed here.
