Armenia gets license to produce drugs for hepatitis C treatment

The Armenian Ministry of Health and the Gilead Science Ireland UC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, under which Gilead will provide Armenia with a license to produce, pack and import genetic drugs for hepatitis C treatment.

“Viral hepatitis is a major problem across the world and is widely spread. The organization and implementation of effective struggle against viral hepatitis is one of the urgent tasks of the Armenian health system,” Armenia’s Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan said.

He noted that Armenian specialists have worked out a national program of prevention and control of viral hepatitis for 2019-2023, under which at least 1000 patients will get medication.
